Convoi Exceptional

Strap a drum to your back and look for adventure! That’s what Convoi Exceptional has been doing from Berlin to Copenhagen, Paris to Rome and back to their home base in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. Over the past few years the five guys that make up Convoi Exceptional have been conquering the streets of Europe. ‘Performing on the streets is fantastic. It’s fun getting busy shoppers to stop and listen and see them be swept up in the amazing energy produced by the beat of the drums.’

Despite their passion for playing on side-walks, in squares and parks, the stage is a great platform for the saxophone and drums too. They perform at a growing number of festivals, neighborhood parties, company events, house parties and percussion workshops, the music just never stops!

Convoi Exceptional appeals to everybody. Even the old guy at a Dutch wedding on the coast who asked: ..Haven..t you got any old folks music? Those drums aren’t really my thing.’, went home with rosy cheeks. The Convoi guys have also demonstrated their djembe skills on Dutch national television in a popular TV show.

So what is Convoi Exceptional?
Five musicians who merge saxophone and percussion to create flowing rhythms and interchanging beats that make you move your body. These guys attract a crowd easily with their open attitude and magnetic energy. They call it: Heading out for adventure with a drum on your back! And the next adventure? It’s your call…

Convoi Exceptional has played at many festivals in Holland including: de Parade, Oerol Festival, Camping Rotterdam, Almere Zand, de Museumnacht, Festival de Wereld van de Witte de With and has made street tours in Belgium, New York, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
